Our History
Allen Drain Service was started in 1942 by W.R. Allen and his son W.C. Allen of Kent.
Originally, the shop was located at 310 E. Grant Street in Kent, in between W.R. and W.C.
Allen’s homes,
while the office was run out of Bill Junior’s home by his wife Dorothy. Later the shop was moved
to
1008 Mogadore Road in Kent and the office was located at 674 Damon Street in Akron. The shop
still remains
at 1008 Mogadore Road, while the office is now shared with a local accounting firm.
We are still family owned and operated and are big supporters of local business.
Since the beginning we have been striving to be the best at what we do as well as offer our
service at a
reasonable rate and in a timely manner. Allen Drain was the first in a thirty mile radius to use
Electric Eel
equipment for drain cleaning and has always looked for ways to improve services.
Our long family history in cleaning drains and pumping septic and grease has given us the
knowledge and skill to save the world(at least portage and summit counties) one drain at a time!
